August Bucherer’s articulated figurines add a sense of reality to the large tin toys of the time; the steam car from the Depuoz collection is a very good illustration of this.

The size of the figurines is adapted to that of the tin toys, this steam car in my collection is 51 cm long.
In 1926, August Bucherer relaunched the manufacture of wooden toys, which had begun in 1919, and offered a number of toys, impossible to obtain elsewhere, adapted to his figurines, including this painted wooden biplane in separate parts to be assembled.

This aeroplane is perfect for the articulated pilots who can easily enter into the cockpit.
